FestivalMates is an EDM festival social platform that matches ravers by Spotify music taste. Built for Europe's 18–35 festival-going community, it combines music compatibility scoring, cross-festival crew finding, set planning, and a gamified festival passport — so you never go to a festival alone again. FestivalMates tracks 142+ festivals across 35+ countries with 1130+ confirmed artists for the 2026 season.

What is FestivalMates?+
FestivalMates is a free social app that matches EDM festival-goers by Spotify music taste. It helps ravers find compatible festival crews, plan their schedules, and build a lifelong festival identity across 142+ festivals in 35+ countries.
How does FestivalMates match people?+
FestivalMates uses a proprietary Mate Score algorithm that weighs shared top artists at 60% (position-weighted by rank), genre overlap at 30% (Jaccard similarity), and listening patterns at 10%. When you connect Spotify, we analyze your top artists and genres to calculate a compatibility percentage with every other user. Scores range from Curious Mates (30–49%) up to Soul Mates (90%+).
Is FestivalMates free?+
Yes. The core features of FestivalMates are free forever — matching, squads, set planner, budget planner, packing lists, festival passport, and 5 daily vibes. FestivalMates Pro is an optional upgrade at €4.99/month (or €49.99/year) that unlocks unlimited vibes, streak freezes, full leaderboard access, and the Pro badge.
What festivals does FestivalMates cover?+
FestivalMates tracks 142+ EDM festivals across 35+ countries in Europe, including Tomorrowland, Defqon.1, Awakenings, Mysteryland, Sonar, Creamfields, Parookaville, Ultra Europe, Time Warp, ADE, Sziget, and Dekmantel. We add new festivals every week and users can submit missing events.
How do squads work?+
Squads are groups of 3–8 ravers going to the same festival. Once you match with compatible people, you can form a squad to coordinate shared packing lists, split camping and travel costs, plan which artists to see together, and drop meetup pins inside the festival. Squads form weeks before the event, not last-minute.
What is a raver archetype?+
A raver archetype is a personality profile based on your festival behavior and music taste. FestivalMates has 15 archetypes including Melodic Dreamer, Techno Purist, Bass Head, and Vibe Chaser. You discover yours through a 2-minute quiz that analyzes your listening habits and festival preferences.
How many badges can I earn?+
FestivalMates has 178+ achievement badges across four tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. You earn them by attending festivals, matching with other ravers, completing squads, discovering new artists, and reaching streak milestones. Badges live on your Festival Passport as a permanent record of your rave history.
Is my Spotify data safe?+
Yes. FestivalMates only reads your top artists and genres through Spotify’s official API — we never access your playlists, listening history, or account settings, and we never modify anything on your Spotify account. You can disconnect at any time and we delete the data on request.
What if nobody’s on it for my festival?+
FestivalMates is growing fast and already covers 142+ festivals. You can see exactly how many people are going to each festival before you commit. The earlier you join, the more matches you’ll have by festival season.
Is it safe to meet strangers from an app?+
Safety is built into FestivalMates. Everyone signs up with Spotify or social auth (no fake profiles), squads form weeks before the festival (not last-minute), and you’re always in a group of 3–8 — never a 1-on-1 stranger meetup.
Is FestivalMates available as a mobile app?+
FestivalMates is a mobile-optimized web app that runs in any browser — just open festivalmates.com on your phone and add it to your home screen for an app-like experience. Native iOS and Android apps are planned for late 2026. Until then, every feature — matching, squads, set planner, budget tracker, and festival passport — works fully from your mobile browser.
