Dekmantel Festival runs July 30 - August 2, 2026 in Amsterdamse Bos, a forest park south of Amsterdam, capped at 25,000 attendees — deliberately small by festival standards. Five stages tucked into the forest host the most carefully curated underground house and techno lineup in Europe: Theo Parrish, Floating Points, Jeff Mills, DJ Nobu, Helena Hauff, and the Rush Hour / Dekmantel label roster anchor the bill each year.

Founded in 2013 by the Dekmantel crew from Amsterdam, the festival has built a reputation as the thinking person's electronic festival — no big-room stages, no commercial bookings, no pyro. The forest setting, the UFO stage, and the Selectors stage dedicated to longer DJ sets make Dekmantel feel closer to a club weekend in a forest than a traditional festival.

Dekmantel is for serious underground house, techno, and leftfield electronic fans who want depth over volume. It attracts DJs, producers, and label people alongside fans — the crowd knows the music cold. Ages skew 26-38, heavily international, strong solo-goer and duo attendance. Skip it if you want big-name EDM, don't know the names on the lineup, or prefer a party-first vibe over a listening-first one. This is a festival where people stand still and actually listen.

Tickets sell out within hours of the March on-sale — follow Dekmantel on Instagram and set alarms. Four-day passes run around €220. Dekmantel is a day festival with no camping; stay in Amsterdam-Zuid or Amstelveen and take bus 174 or 356 to Amsterdamse Bos.

The Selectors stage (longer sets) is the festival's best-kept secret — sets often run two to three hours and let DJs actually build something. Bring a picnic blanket for the forest between sets; people linger between stages and this is part of the experience. Food options are strong but vegetarian-leaning, and cash is not accepted. The Dekmantel Boat Party during the festival week sells out separately and is worth booking as an add-on.
