Glastonbury isn't primarily an EDM festival, but its dance offering rivals any European electronic event: Silver Hayes hosts the core dance programming with 10 stages including the Levels, Wow, and Lonely Hearts Club, while Arcadia's iconic Spider structure shoots fire to techno and drum & bass sets until 06:00. Shangri-La and Block9 run further into the night with cutting-edge electronic programming in elaborate theatrical environments.

The mainstage lineup brings rock, pop, and hip-hop headliners, but the after-hours dance areas are where the festival transforms. Block9's NYC Downlow and Genosys stages are the most architecturally ambitious spaces in festival history.

Glastonbury suits open-minded festival-goers who want the widest possible lineup and don't mind trading stage proximity for scale. It's ideal for people who treat the festival as a week-long lifestyle event. Ages span 18-55, the broadest age range of any festival on this list, heavily British. Skip it if you want a pure electronic lineup, hate walking (the site is enormous), or can't handle mud — Worthy Farm rain is legendary and unavoidable.

Tickets are not bought — they're registered for. Registration opens each autumn on the Glastonbury website; tickets go on sale in November and sell out in 30 minutes. Set alarms, use multiple devices, and have your registration number ready. Tickets cost around £390 + £5 booking fee.

Arrive Wednesday morning (gates open Wed) and camp in Pennard Hill Ground for proximity to dance areas, or Oxlyn's Fields for a quieter base. Silver Hayes and Arcadia don't peak until after 23:00, so nap between 18:00-22:00. Wellies are non-negotiable even in a dry year. The NHS tent, left-luggage, and the Greenpeace field are under-appreciated — visit the Greenpeace field Sunday afternoon to recover in actual shade.
